How We Work
Acts of Wisdom operates through a very simple three part process
PEOPLE
Before we do anything we establish relationships: with teachers, school administrators, parents, and the people in the surrounding community. This is the MOST IMPORTANT step. Here we gain people's trust and help empower them to help us in our goals. Listening is BIG! When we listen we learn. We now know what THEY need, not what we THINK they need. We cannot assume we know what is right for them. This is a way in which we can gain a full picture as to the perceived needs within the school.
Plan
Our next step is to put together a plan. This is a mutual process again in which we sit down with major stakeholders. These are the principals, the teachers, students, elders, and members of the community. We help come up with a list of needs for the school project and then we also help to rank those needs in order of priority. Most always, books and teaching materials are first. We also make sure that certain parameters are met before, during and after the projects are completed.
Purpose
The plans for the schools gives us our purpose. This allows us to communicate precisely with others as to what we need to accomplish. By knowing our purpose we can help to provide good quality education for our students.
